A day of peace and hope.

I have a really good friend who has been going through something really difficult.  She is amazing, strong, and represents all good things.   I was readings some church talks earlier, and this quote stuck out to me.  It is a quote from  General Conference.   General Conference is a world wide broadcast conference where leaders of the Mormon church speak directly to members about relevant matters.  This is a quote from Elder Uchtdorf.

"But even though we may feel lost in the midst of our current circumstances, God promises the hope of His light—He promises to illuminate the way before us and show us the way out of darkness."

My friend who is at the beach this week sent me a text this morning.  It reminded me of Elder Uchtdorf's  quote.  Her text.....

"Last night I took the kids for a walk on the beach.  As you know the last couple of days have been very trying, but when we got to the beach there was a rainbow.  It was so pretty.  You could see the entire rainbow and it was directly over the ocean.  I might be crazy, but to me I felt like God was saying....you have made it through the storm.  Everything is going to be okay.  I had the best night sleep in days.   Enjoy yours."

We don't share the same religion, but we share many of the same beliefs.  Her text made me cry.  I have been reminded......we are promised peace and hope when we have faith in God.
