Just the other day I had a dear friend from church stop by with a plate of something, and seemed to have just the right thing to say at just the right time. It never ceases to amaze me how simple acts of kindness can really buoy us up.
In the spirit of gift giving......I have been sewing, and crafting the past couple of days. I hadn't gotten out my sewing machine for a few months, and today was reminded how therapeutic it is to create a little something for someone. So I thought I would document a couple of gifts I have been making......
My mother in law passed along a yummy recipe that I filled this $2 bowl from Target with. I topped it off with celaphane (a favorite "Mom" wrapping job).....and a little note made from Cavallini wrapping paper....and wala.....a perfect little valentine.
Corn Pops - they are so yummy.....
1 large bag of corn pops
1 large bag of corn pops
Melt: 1/2 cup butter (almost completely)
Add: 1 C. brown sugar
1/4 C. light karo syrup
and a pinch of salt
As soon as it reaches a boil, take off heat. Pour big bag of corn puffs onto large cookie sheet and drizzle mixture on top. Mix with hands. Cook at 250 degrees for 20-30 minutes...and there you have it.
My mother in law at the bottom of the hand written recipe wrote "you will want to eat the whole thing".....and she is telling the truth.
A valentine's creation inspired from one of my favorite websites of all time BHLDN. I thought this could be the perfect gift for a few......including to myself:)
