Today I had the chance to teach at church in Relief Society. I always get a bit nervous, but love it while preparing. I was reading through last weeks conference talks. I love quotes, and I especially love them in lessons. This is a quote from Pres. Uchtdorf in his talk "Of Regrets and Resolutions". I just have to document because it is such a good reminder for me.
"So often we get caught up in the illusion that there is something just beyond our reach that would bring us happiness: a better family situation, a better financial situation, or the end of a challenging trial. The older we get, the more we look back and realize that external circumstances don't really matter or determine our happiness. You and I are ultimately in charge of our own happiness. Sometimes in life we become so focused on the finish line that we fail to find joy in the journey. Doesn't it seem foolish to spoil sweet and joyful experiences because we are constantly anticipating the moment when they will end?"
My mantra for the week!

Amazing. I just need to tell you that I was telling my mom about your blog and how I really adore reading it. I told her how it's just a breath of fresh air and that I recommend that she read it too. So...then I read your post above and just got goosebumps. My mom's favorite quote is "Bloom where you're planted." I actually blogged about it on my blog last year and included the quote on my post. Thanks again for your beautiful words and writing. Have a great week. :)
